Republic day is an important National festival for our motherland India. It is great blessing for our country to exists independently on the map of the world. So the 74th Republic Day was celebrated with much pomp and glory in S.P.M. English School in coordination with other schools of S. P. Mandali Campus in Solapur. They include H. D. High School and Jr. College, Nutan Marathi Vidyalaya Pre-primary and Primary School. The whole campus was decorated with balloons, rangoli and other decorative materials using the theme of patriotism. The flag drawing and coluring activities were taken in the classes on the previous day.
The event started with the gathering of all schools in the ground. The warm welcoming of the guest was done by Head of all institutions at gate. The guest and hosts presided to the flag hoisting ceremony venue with the school band.
Hon. Chief Guest of the program Mr. Hari Godbole, Director, Dhanman Precast Pvt. Ltd and The Solapur Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. Solapur, Mr. Prakash Kamble, In charge Principal, H. D. High School and Junior College, Mrs. Varsha Jedhe, Headmistress, N.M.V.Primary School, Mrs. Archana Kulkarni, Headmistress, N.M.V. Pre-primary School, Mrs. Sangeeta Koli, Headmistress, S. P.M. English School, Solapur, all School Supervisors, students, parents and Ex-students and Ex-teachers were present for the program.
The chief guest hoisted the flag and everyone saluted the tricolour and sang National anthem to uphold honour and integrity. The pledge was taken by everyone together. The students of H.D. High School sang the flag song.
It was on January 26, 1950 the Indian Constitution came into effect and India became sovereign declaring it Republic. So the Constitutional Preamble was read by Mrs. Jadhe mam and repeated by all. Patriotic song was sung by students of H.D. High School under the guidance of Music teacher Mrs. Saanvi Kulkarni.
The students of S.P.M. School brought the stage alive with their passion and love of the motherland through their dance performance. There was speech delivered by Miss. Prachi Swami of N.M.V. Primary School. Dance was also performed by the students to the rhythmic beats of patriotic song by the students of N.M.V. Pre-Primary and Primary Schools that showed the essence of unity. Students of H. D. Junior College gave speech that further kindle the spirit of patriotism.
The Chief Guest Mr. Godbole in his speech highlighted the significance of the day. Mr Prakash Kamble spoke about unique features of our constitution like sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic etc. he also made children aware that the future of country lies in their hand and they have to prepare themselves to shoulder the responsibility.
The program ended with Kaumi Nare by N.C.C. cadets
The sweet distribution was done for students.
Refreshment arrangements for staff and guest was done.
Thus republic day was celebrated with lots of excitement and zeal in the school.
